With the current Kings pipeline, I have Fagemo penciled in as the long term 3RW of the future, one a line with Kempe and Madden. If the Kings draft Byfield, then that will alter the center projection, but I still have Kempe and Fagemo on the wings.

Eventually, Kopitar will drop down to the 3C spot creating a fantastic all-Europe line.

Did you listen to the Mayors pod cast with Dennis Bernstein when they talked to LA scouts. And how high they are on Fagemo. The pipeline is looking good. I dont think we see Kempe much longer if he doesnt take another step.

I can't recall a team let alone the Kings having this many prospects in the system and that's not even counting the early 5* we'll be getting this year. I would say if a d is there in the late 1st we could move a few of those 2nd round picks. Sadly I just don't think we can pass on Byfield or Stutzle to get Drysdale.

*1 1st(2nd overall!!)and there are some who think longterm Byfield will be better than Lafreniere
3 2nd round picks
1 very early 3rd round pick

We will likely see one of Barron, Wallinder, Grans, Cormier, or Andrae fall to the Kings at the first 2nd rounder. Not bad. Heck, maybe Poirier will fall all the way to that pick with his suspect own zone play. So I think there will be plenty of D available when the Kings pick in the 2nd and there is no need to trade back into the 1st unless the player is too irresistible for Blake. AND, if he does that, I hope the pick is used for the BPA and not for need.

I mean at some point we won't be able to sign all of these kids so that's why I threw out the trade 1 or 2 of the 2nd rounders out of the 3 we have as we have that luxury for once! I'm not sure who I like out of that bunch but it would be nice in 2-3 years to see
Bjorfort
Durzi
Walker
Roy
and whoever we pick this year along with of course Doughty. I mean Claque and Anderson are going to have to fight to make this team whereas a few seasons ago they'd be locks similar to Luff up front.

Why would the Kings get rid of Kempe? He has pretty much single-handedly fixed the power play zone entry problem the Kings couldn't solve in 2018-19. He's also a quality defensive forward that can effectively kill penalties. Who cares if he doesn't score 20g/50p per season?

I don't know why people expect Kempe to be a point producer. That has never been part of his game. He hasn't scored at high rates at any level he has played in. The fact that he doesn't score a bunch will keep his contract manageable. I think he would be an exceptional long-term 3rd line player. If he can manage 10g/40p with roughly half of those coming on the power play, then he has exceeded all my expectations.

I think Kempe will wear a Kings jersey for a very long time.

Earl-I hear you. Either way Blake goes, we have a lot to be thankful for based on how the rebuild is progressing. I'm looking forward to the draft big time.

I agree that Clague is going to have to fight for a roster spot, but I think Anderson is the permanent 2LD this season. MacDermid has to get at least 25 games to satisfy the expansion draft exposure reuqirements, so unless someone gets hurt, that's likely 25 games that Clague watches from the team suite. My guess is that they'll both get 35-45 games.
